“I am sorry Mr. Stevens… Your son has lost his leg. We had to cut the leg otherwise he would lose his life. You can see him now”. Doctor walked away after saying these unbearable words to Mr. Stevens.
Even though it was day time, there were dozens of lights in the hallway, but Mr. Stevens could only see darkness everywhere. He put his right hand on the wall to prevent himself from falling. He then took off the glasses and wiped his tears with his left hand.
He remembered his deceased wife as he walked toward his son’s room. She died just 2 months ago in a car accident… and now… his 18-year old son lost his leg in a road accident.
“How would she feel if she was alive?” He asked himself.
He opened the room and walked-in. His son, Stevens Junior, looked at him as tears came out of his eyes.
Mr. Stevens agilely walked toward his son, held his hand and asked him, “How did this happen my son? How…? I had told you to be cautious when you ride your bike. What happened son? How did you lose control?”
“I am sorry dad” Junior cried, “I got distracted dad, the speed was just fine”.
Junior continued, “On the Main Street in North West, there is a billboard there … There was a really awesome logo design on the billboard that totally distracted me. I was so engrossed that I didn’t even notice that the truck in front of me had stopped. I was totally captivated by the logo design and hit the truck at full speed without even slightly hitting the brakes”.
“Ah!” Mr. Stevens sighed and took a deep breath.

“But… At least… you are alive my son! At least you are alive!” Mr. Stevens started crying harder, bent down and hugged his only son.

My Friend Fell Down the Stairs… Please Be Cautious!
S.Z. was not in the office and I was wondering what happened to him. He was punctual and always came to office before me.
Anyway… I went to my seat, turned on my computer and started my work. After a couple of hours, my cell phone rang. I looked at the caller ID, it was S.Z. calling me.
I received the call and said, “Howdy! My friend... Where have you disappeared without notice?”
But… after hearing S.Z.’s painful voice I realized something was not right.
He said, “You don’t want to know mate”.
He continued, “Please tell everyone in the department I won’t be coming in today. I fell down the stairs in the morning and my left foot has swelled up like a balloon”.
“ohhh…!” I felt sorry for him as he is a good friend of mine.
I said, “Don’t worry my friend… Just take good rest. I hope to see you soon”.
S.Z. came to office after 2 days and told us his story.
To make it short… you need to be careful otherwise you can fall down the stairs as well, just like S.Z.
As you go up -or- down, do not look here and there. If there are attractive graphic designs nearby, do not look at them.
Do not let an attractive logo design mesmerize you completely and make you lose your balance.
Always watch your steps!
Make sure you know where your feet are… otherwise you will also fall down the stairs… just like S.Z.

“Dad! You had told me you’d pay the tuition fee” He yelled disappointedly and hopelessly as the tears came out of his eyes.
“All my friends are going to Harvard. I can’t go to a local community college just because you are not going to pay for my college education. You can’t do this to me, you can’t mess up my life” He cried harder.
“What about my dreams dad? Have you thought about this for a second? My life will be ruined” He screamed desperately, stood up and ran upstairs.
His father took off the glasses, took a deep breath and started looking at the ceiling. He tried to remember the past when everything was good and everyone in the family was happy. Then, all of a sudden, something happened to the family business. Sales declined, profits decreased and their lives became miserable.
He muttered, “How did the sales go down? What went wrong with my business?”
He wore his glasses again and continued thinking. “Sales were good, profits were high, I was in a much better position than my competitors, then what happened all of a sudden?”
He sat there for a couple of hours, trying to figure out what he could do to get his business back on its feet.
Then… All of a sudden… He stood up with utter excitement. His face lit up with happiness and his eyes shone with delight.
He ran to his son’s room and screamed happily, “Son! I will pay your tuition fee. You will go to Harvard my son. Yes, you will”.
He then ran to his computer and emailed his Marketing Manager:
Dear Steve,
I know why our sales declined.
I know why we witnessed such a massive downfall.
Do you remember it all happened after we changed our logo design? Our previous logo design was much better, but unfortunately the “Web 2.0” trend blinded us completely and we changed the logo.
Let’s bring the old logo design back and let’s tell our competitors, we are back in the game.
After our profits increase, I will be able to pay my son’s tuition fee. I will make my son and my family happy. My son is now going to Harvard!

Don't Get Slapped Because of Someone's Attractive Logo Design
"How dare you stare at me? I have been noticing this for last 10 minutes". She said this to my friend rudely at the bus stop and slapped him in the face.
He was totally spellbound and he didn't have a word to say.
His mouth opened, he was totally shocked after getting slapped by a girl in public. He held his cheek and began staring at me.
I was like, "Dude, what’s up with you today? Why are you staring at me now?"
He said, "Man! I was not staring at her. She wasn't attractive to begin with. It was the logo design on her cap that was totally awesome".
He continued, "The colors, the design and the shape of the logo design... totally captivated me, not the girl”.
I said, “Well, you are lucky she wasn’t a martial artist, otherwise you would get your butt kicked too. Think of yourself as a lucky man. Let’s get out of here as people are staring at us now”.
What is the moral of story?
Lesson 1 – For Consumers:
Don’t let an attractive logo design take over your emotions.
Simply learn more about the company and see if you buy products made by their competitors. If you do, then stop buying from the competitors and start buying from them instead.
